Fundraising
In order to keep our tuition low, fundraising
has taken on an integral role at Christiana Homeschool Academy.
Each family is given a fundraising goal at the start of the year,
and there are several opportunities throughout the year to reach
this all-important goal.
This past year, Christiana offered these
activities:
-
Fall fundraisers
-
Spring fundraiser
-
Year-round fundraisers
-
Buy out donations
- Selling God’s
Creation Scripture
Calendars. Selling the beautiful scripture-based calendars was easy, and what a blessing to our
customers to have God’s word on display throughout the year!
- The Spring fundraiser is our
Annual
Spell-a-thon. This is our biggest fundraising event in which
everyone is encouraged to participate. The profits are
astounding, and the children seem to love the challenge…and
rewards! Participation is vital to the success of this event and
can help you reach and easily exceed your family goal! This is
the most significant and profitable of all our fundraisers!
- Year-round fundraisers consist of collecting
Box Tops, Soup labels, and Pizza lunch days. Last year, we also
had an end of the year Ice Cream social which was a very yummy
event for all family members!
(The funds raised from these year-round events do not go toward
your family goal.)
- Lastly, we have what we call the “buy out”
donation. Recognizing that sometimes it can be difficult for a
family to participate in some of these fundraisers, we now provide
the option of “buying out”. Since every family goal needs to be
met, donating the funds out-right will satisfy the family goal.
However, when it comes to the Spell-a-thon, even if you do buy
out, your child is still expected to learn his words and take part
in the test, either with the other children, or at home if
circumstances dictate it.
Christiana is always looking for volunteers and
creative ideas for profitable fundraising activities. Next year you
may see some exciting changes as God provides new ideas and new
people to come forward. Remember that these activities are vital to
keeping our program costs down. Additionally, they are a great
learning experience for our children!
